A Discovery of Reiki Symbolism

Once kept as closely guarded secrets for level II and III practitioners, the Reiki symbols have become readily available today both on the Internet and in print material.

Traditionally gaining their power at the second initiation of Reiki, the symbols have now become common place and have lost most of their inherent power. However, they still gain power through the intention of the practitioner and sincerity of heart within a healer.

The primary purpose of the following Reiki symbols is to help any healer focus their mind and energy in order to achieve some form of  sympathetic resonance with specific healing frequencies.

It is important to draw the symbol while saying the name Cho Ku Rei three times. The name can be said mentally or verbally.

This symbol relates to a number of healing treatments including energy accumulation, protection, and sealing energies within something.

This symbol primarily increases a person’s Reiki power: The increase, or energy flux, of universal life in the practitioner.

Through the use of this symbol, remote attunement from one grade to another can also be performed.

This character, “Dai Ko Myo”, balances the mental and physical state. The circle around the person expresses the presence of a ubiquitous living energy that is all around us.

This symbol also helps to reduce pain if drawn over a damaged area of the body. On a more spiritual plane, it is also famous for unblocking chakras and getting the energy flowing again.

There isn’t much information available about the Reiki symbols. Clouded in mystery for thousands of years, we have only our focused intention to engage this symbolic language. Yet the very act of using the symbols, with the pressing desires of our heart, allows for the activation of their diminished, but inherent power.
